18 Doll Dress, You Design & Stitch with Mom

18″ Doll Dress to Design and Create with Mom

Take a precut 18″ A-Line Doll dress and use it to create a masterpiece with mom (or grandma, auntie, dad…). I will bring out the trims, embroidery, buttons, lace, and stamps. The two of you will use this 3-hour class to design a new haute couture 18″ Dress (which does fit American Girl Dolls).  Once the dresses have been adorned, you two will learn how to sew the dress together and add your velcro closure! 

Then.. how about a Runway show! Have your girls bring their doll with them so they can do a little fashion show at the end of the class!

Prerequisites: None

What you will learn: 
Designing your creation
attaching trims
basic embroidery stitches
zig zag and straight stitch
Planning placement of design and trims
Seam allowance
attaching closure
Finishing techniques

Fantastic way to let your child’s imagination grow and flourish, they will want to make them for everyone!

Ages: 8 and up

Max Students: 3 (6 total each registration is for one child and one adult)


Your Doll for fashion show
Any trims you might have and want to incorporate into your design

Supplies included:
Precut Dress in natural/neutral colors
Notions (buttons/trims) for decorating
bias tape
Basic sewing kit

  • Please do not bring your machine to this class I will have them all ready to use for the class.
