Simple Cardigan or Shawl

Spring, Summer, and Fall are the perfect time for this cardigan, can be made in a variety of different weight knits! This 2-hour class will teach you how to build this cardigan, it takes about 30 minutes total! Just imagine, 30 minutes! That’s it, can’t find a coverup that matches your outfit? Perfect! You’re covered with this garment!
Prerequisites: None (knowledge of seam allowance is nice but not required)

What you will learn: 
Cutting Knit Fabric
Stretch Stitches
Needle Talk
Sewing with Knit

Change it up! Make it elegant or make it FUN! The sky is the limit with this garment!

Ages: 13+ (adults welcome and encouraged!)

Max Students: 4

1 1/4 yard -2 or 4-way stretch knit – 95% cotton & 5% Spandex — (medium weight for beginner sewists)
Sewing Machine
Size 12 or 14 Stretch, Ball Point or Jersey needle
Matching Polyester All-Purpose Thread

Supplies provided by the instructor:
Sewing Machine (please put in notes if you need one)
Tools and Supplies ( scissors, pins, clips, iron, marking tools, rulers)

This class is perfect to start sewing garments! No pattern needed! Sews up in about 30 min!


Park behind the building, entry is at Grange Hall. Use either sidewalk to come around to the front of the building that faces Dayton Xenia.

Parking on Grange Hall; Park in Decoy/Knickerbocker Lot
Follow either sidewalk on the side of building to the studio door that faces Dayton-Xenia.
