Updates! Move, Decorating, Classes

Moved and Ready!

Moving is one of the most stressful events in one’s life, next to death and divorce. However, this move probably was one the easiest to complete but stressful leading up to the move. We had a few hiccups with the new location, mainly the floor, however that has been remedied.  Now is the task of getting the studio together while construction for Decoy, and the last few bits for my spot will be finished. I can’t wait for them to move the studio over!!!

Floors before move

As I said, we had a small hiccup with the flooring; I was hoping and crossing my fingers that the flooring under the old carpet would be beautiful. But, unfortunately, in any construction project on a space, it is a gamble, and this area wasn’t a good one for the flooring. The bones were good, but the patches and fixes were not suitable for the painting of the old floor (which is what I wanted to do).

So I had to hunker down and pay for new flooring to make sure it was safe and solid. So I was able to get this beautiful LVT flooring in Vanilla bean.

It is such a beautiful color and makes the entire room light and happy! I am so stoked that we ended up getting the new floor, and we were able to help with a lot of the work, which helped keep the pricing down.

I love that new flooring and super happy my husband talked me into just doing it.

Classes

So, with the move, I will still be hosting classes in this new space. Please park on the side of the building where the classroom entrance is when coming to the studio for a workshop or lab! No more having to walk around a building to get to the door! I will be putting up some new workshops this week; I have been waiting on posting them until I knew what was happening in the new space.

The reason the movie is so exciting is I will have a much more significant classroom! I can’t wait to host my first Create Day!

Updates – Classes/Events and General

I have been at it with the group and private lessons! Hosting my first group private lesson to make a tee-shirt quilt!

I also hosted my first Kids Night In at the studio – 8 Kiddos!

Private lessons have been in full swing, as well as the leggings class this past Saturday!

I am working on getting some funds together for some fabrics to carry, and I will also start carrying more indie patterns and notions/threads/needles for purchase in class or on Tuesdays when I am open!

What classes would you like to see? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I do sell the pattern and can teach you to make it in a class if you would like! It would be a private lesson πŸ™‚
