Combo Workshop!

For the first time a combo workshop! This class is an accelerated class for those who really want to start sewing! We will start with Getting to Know Your Machine, Sewing Basics. We will then move to Demystifying Patterns, Unraveling the mystery of  Sewing Patterns, then to finish the class we will use a sewing pattern to use to confirm all we learned earlier in our class and make an envelope pillowcase.

Prerequisites: None

What you will learn:
Cleaning/Maintenance
Needles
Threading Machine
Filling & Inserting Bobbin
Accessories and Feet
Seam Allowance
Troubleshooting
Sewing Kit
Basic Sewing Terms
Taking measurements
Sizing History
Pattern Reading – Envelope

This accelerated class will get you sewing in no time!  Learn about the machine, patterns and make a small project in this 5 hour class! We will break for 1/2 hour for snacks and a mental break! Bring a snack with you! 

Ages: 12+ (adults encouraged!)

Max Students: 5 

Bring:
Sewing Machine – needs to be less than 10 years old for group classes
Thread (if using your own machine)
Accessories that come with machine
Manual for your machine

 

Supplies provided by the instructor:
Handouts for the classes
Fabric for the envelope pillow
Scrap fabric for practicing
Thread (to use during class if using my machine)
