Open sew is designed for you to be able to come in and rent a machine to work on projects. In from out of town and need to make a repair but don’t have a sewing machine? Come use mine for $5 per hour. Have kids running around and can’t seem to make time to work on your projects, this is a perfect solution for you to get time!
At this time ALL persons in the studio are required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. I do have disposable masks at the door.
Open Studio Fees and Costs
Just Sewing machine rental – $5 per hour
Sewing Machine and Serger – $10 per hour
Coverstitch Machine $5 per hour (additional – we only have one available)
***If you need to use a sewing machine, serger, or coverstitch machine, you will need to know how to use them before coming or book a private lesson on it first.
**Since I am a small business, if you damage or break the machine you will be responsible for getting it fixed or paying for a new machine.
You will have access to cutting tables, irons, and ironing boards. Each Station is set up with a Brother CS6000i, and a Brother 1034D Serger. To use either machine, you will need to have taken the classes or have comparable skills learned in those classes. The Serger is a separate fee as well as the Coverstitch machine.
You will be responsible for your supplies and notions, such as thread and specialty needles (my machines always have a size 12 sharps/microtex in the machines). The studio does carry a wide variety of notions, patterns, fabrics, and supplies. You are also required to bring your own sewing kit, if you do not bring one you will need to purchase one from the studio.
If you are quilting please make sure you bring your piecing foot, rotary cutter, and rulers. I do have self-healing mats available to use.
I do have some patterns, notions, and fabric for sale at the studio but they are limited, I am not a full fabric shop.
