This workshop is designed to help each new sewist build confidence in their sewing!
Masks will be required during class, students temps will be taken upon arrival. All workstations will be sanitized before and after class. Each student will have their own workbench to ensure the 6ft distancing is followed.
Even with the new policies, we will have a fantastic time while learning to use a sewing machine and building confidence!!

Teen Sewing Series
4-week workshop – Learn the basic techniques that will help inspire creations to come! Each week we will learn a new technique or skill to help build confidence. Projects will be straight stitch projects to help master the basics of keeping a straight line, seam allowance, and clean stitching.
What will they make?!
Sept 8th – Sewing Machine Basics
Learn all about using the sewing machine from bobbin filling, threading, necessary cleaning, changing a needle, about needles, and more! Then we will practice our stitches on sewing sheets getting us prepped to make a square pincushion! After students make a pincushion, fabric and polyfill are provided to complete the project.
Sept 15th – Pillows Applique Felt Pillows 10×10
Each student creates a pillow using felt, and they will choose pieces to construct their design on the pillow front, then learning about applique they will sew on their plan. Students will learn the proper order to build a decorative pillow. They will learn about design, applique, and basic pillow construction.
Sept 22th – French Seam Pillowcases!
Then we will tackle French seams! A fantastic finishing that makes a project go from homemade to handmade! Students will learn about pivoting and turning, french seams, and the burrito roll.
Sept 29th – Lined Zipper Pouch
In the final class of the workshop, students will make a hand-stamped lined zipper pencil case!

Class Cancellation Policy & Payments
- However, you will need to reschedule within 15 days and schedule for no more than 30 days from the original class.
- The class fee is forfeit if not rescheduled within this timeframe.
•IF CANCELLATION LESS THAN 4 DAYS before the registered class date, there will be no credit.
- No exceptions, this ensures that other students waiting for a seat are not missing learning opportunities due to late cancellations.
• No-shows give up any refund or exchange.
**Classes canceled by the studio will receive class credit.
We try to limit classes canceled however there may be times that a class will be canceled and if this happens, you will receive an email with a coupon code to reschedule your class at your convenience. If you would prefer that I put you in the next class scheduled automatically, please just let me know.
Times:
All classes start on time. Please be prompt, if you can come up with 5 minutes early for set up.
Please do not come more than 5 minutes early to the studio; I will open the doors 5 min prior. I sometimes have offsite classes, private lessons or appts before the class.
If you use freeways to get to us, be aware of the rush-hour traffic, please plan accordingly.
If you are over ½ an hour late, you will need to schedule a private lesson at your cost. You might miss out on precious information. Please make sure you give yourself time for traffic and travel.
Returns/Refunds:
No Refund or Transfer of funds, if upon cancellation is 4 days or less before the start of the class.
If you are canceling before the 4 days cut off will result in a CLASS credit.
