Create a Quilt Square, Then Sew It to Your Sweatshirt!

We are hosting a fun afternoon of quilting and creative upcycling; either buy yourself an oversized sweatshirt or grab that favorite worn-out one from the closet. Wash it, then come create a fun quilt square to customize your sweatshirt! Use this class to learn more about piecing or just to make new friends.

The shop will supply SOME supplies, but the cool thing about this class is we can upcycle!
You will receive an email asking you to choose between 5 different quilt squares. Then you will receive the cutting instructions for the fabrics. Pieces need to be pre-cut so we can use our time wisely. If you need help cutting, we have Assisted Sews you can come to before class.

Prerequisite: Sewing 101 and Quilting 101 (or equivalent skills) or a private lesson

Quilt Square Sweatshirt!

Bring your sweatshirt and choose the block you want to create. We will email you a list of cutting instructions and what to bring!
Then we will create the block together and sew it to the sweatshirt, showing you how to make some fun holiday gifts!

Materials to bring:

Sewing Kit
Prewashed Sweatshirt
Rotary Cutter
Creative Grid Quilt Square
Stretch Needle Size 14
Gutermann All-Purpose Polyester Thread
Fabric for Quilt square – You will receive an email with the possible squares to make. You will receive cutting instructions; cut the pieces before coming to class. If you do not pre-cut, you may not finish this project and will have to book a private lesson to finish.

Supplies included:

Use of sewing machine – Free to use – must bring a bobbin and Gutermann thread (Bobbins are Brother SA156), or bring your machine.
13×13 inches of interfacing for quilt square
Cutting Mats
Ironing stations
