Reversible Totebag – Intro to Sewing!

Sew a reversible tote in class, and use it for the pool, sleepovers, library, and more! The fun part is that you are the designer, so you can make it as fancy or as casual as you want! This class is excellent for all skill levels.

What you will learn:

seam allowance
cutting fabric
boxed bottom
sewing a lining
adding straps
flipping and turning
measuring
and topstitching

Beginner_sewist — The student can thread the machine and fill a bobbin, understands basic sewing terms, cutting and seam allowance

Ages: 10+
Max students: 6

**Sewing 101 or Kids Sewing 101 is required before taking this class, as well as being able to work independently.

Materials to bring:

(2) half-yard cuts of quilt-weight cotton (44/45″ width)
– One will be the exterior, and one will be the interior of the bag

(1) spool of matching all-purpose polyester thread

(1.5) yards of 1-inch Cotton Webbing for the strap of the bag

Sewing Kit

Sewing Machine – In Additional Notes, if you need to borrow a sewing machine, please bring yours if it’s in good working condition.
If borrowing mine, bring a bobbin, a Class 15 Size 10, and Gutermann thread (I do sell both at the studio).
