Rope Bowls – Sewing 101 Project
Ages: 16 and older. This craft is perfect for those wanting to learn how to Sew Rope Bowls.
Must have taken Sewing 101- learn your machine before attending the first class, as a private lesson or in the group class.
These are so fun to make in the fall time, just like our favorite Burrito bowl!
Max Students: 6
What you will take away from this workshop:
Starting rope bowl
Turning and creating your shape
Inserting colorful scraps for punches of color
Finishing off the bowl
- Materials:
Cotton Rope Clothesline(or buy from the studio – Cotton Rope – extra in case you finish earlier and want to make a second one.
- All-Purpose Polyester Thread (whatever color you want!)
- Bobbin (if using my machine, you will need to purchase a bobbin). Alternatively, bring one Class 15)
- Size 16 needle
- Sewing Kit – Scissors, seam ripper, measuring tape, marking tool, pins
- That purple thang – isn’t required but does help with feeding the rope in without worrying about your fingers
Supplies included:
Sewing Machine – Please note in additional notes if you would like to use one.

(or buy from the studio – Cotton Rope – enough rope for a smaller bowl; if you have time, bring extra, or if you want a specific color, bring that 🙂
