18″ Doll Clothing Camp!

18″ Doll Clothing Camp!

We added another fun camp this year, but it starts Wednesday! 18″ doll clothing has been something I have been playing with patterns for a while. It’s a great scale size for doll clothing; it’s easier to make this clothing than Barbie Doll sizes. Everything keeps getting smaller.

Doll clothing can be a great way to release your fashion style, make a simple garment, or jazz it up with provided trims. I will have laces, fringe, cording, bias, piping, etc., available for the students to design (remember, fewer items might be made if the student gets into the designing process, which is also a great learning experience and should never be rushed).

Clothing types

Students will choose from a list of garments to create and reply with the selected makes. Then we will make sure students will receive our patterns and instructions. Please reply to the email confirmation with the attachment as soon as possible so I can draft a custom set of clothing patterns just for the designer!
This will also teach your child basic pattern reading and correctly placing the pattern piece on the fabric. This is a valuable skill that will translate into all types of sewing styles and projects.

Final Looks

Final looks: here are a few actual samples (no trims). This is the base shape for the students to sew and add the embellishments.
