As I continue my sewing journey, I wanted to put out some of my favorite accomplishments. I am so excited to share these dates, times and adventures with you! I loved being a part of Sew Dayton, it broke my heart to close. But it was beyond my control. Creative paths take everyone in new directions. When you are partners with another in business, sometimes new paths are dug and you’re not in them.
So, I dug a new path for myself, opening Needle, Ink and Thread. Sticking to the core values that I alway held dear to my heart, respect for all that walk through my door, integrity to be honest with each student or customer, accepting of everyone that walks through my doors looking for help.
I truly believe to be an inspiring person, you must be able to adapt to each person that is trying to learn.. relating with each student at some level. Possibly their fur babies at home, or being a parent. Maybe even a previous job we both may have held at one point.
I try to find different and creative ways to teach techniques that might be intimidating and scary, I approach them like any problem, knowing they it will/can be fixed or mastered.
I put my heart and soul into every class I create, every interview, alteration, class, prepping for classes. I really try to make each experience a fun, inviting and fruitful time.
If you allow me to help you along your creative journey, I will be a cheerleader, mentor, teacher and most of all a friend
